In preparation of the History month of Kitely I decided to give a work on the front of the palace and move the city away. Here is a sky view of the Palace now. Please come visit and assit the French poetry reading on august 21th and the history month Ball on august 28th. Both held in the Kingdom of Florin. Click HERE for the full history month schedule.
Today I was as always trying to find a way to improve the sim performances and had a look at the Statistic window of the viewer and saw something that did not hit me before. KTris per frame AND Total Objects. Found out that in SL the viewer only consider Object that are in sight, but in OpenSIM it kind of always mention all the Objects that are in the SIM, I'm not sure if it is real or if it is simply a bug on the viewer but what is more alarming is the KTris that is so amazingly high near the Palace. I had like 1200 KTris per Frame in the entry of the city and reach 15000 in the Palace.... So I found another way to mesure the LAG issue near the palace. I then went to Second Life on Rose Theatre to compare and I was at 1234 KTris... I will work harder on reducing Polygon Count on the Palace so Lag should reduce also and will work with this stats for now on for testing.
After a week of hard work, here come Flore's Palace Royal Chapel. The organ is yet to come. Next may come the Opera or the city... All depend on the King desires.
I was able to progress also on the apartments in Flore royal palace and here they are. The corridors are not completed but the apartments are. There will be 2 rooms and single rooms.
The rental system is not done yet but every little steps like this bring us closer to opening Role Play.
This weekend I did different small and bigger things :) But I'm pleased of the result on the new "quartier" of Flore city. Here I share some screenshot with you You may notice I took the liberty to add light to the street even if there were not in this time... But to me it look nicer especially at night :)
Anyway, this new part of the city is the paysant living area. The capital is divided in 3 sections,

I'm so happy I was able to understand better the ways of mesh cloth and rigging. I'm still a newbie at it but I've been able to pull out some cloth and I'm looking to make my own creations from scratch very soon.
Here is what I look like at the moment. This week I worked on the War and Peace salon of the palace, the rooms that are on both side of the hall of mirrors. |
