The Kingdom of Florin is a project I have started two years ago in Second Life. Antiquity and Second LifeAt first I started creating a Role Play in Antiquity sim. I did many castle there:
From castle to castle I tried to improve the Role Play structure but never really open it. All this was done so far on a Homestead and I was in need of more Prims (The unit use to quantify the number of object you can place on your region). I had the chance to get my hand on a Full Sim that cost me 295 USD a month... I've been there working on the kingdom for a year. This new project turn out more focus on Medieval and Fantasy inspired France. It was very close to opening when I decided to follow the advices of my dear friend Jacon Cortes and take a loot at Kitely Grid. Kitely GridI've come to learn I could get 16 Full Sims for 35 USD a month.... The choice was still uneasy as I had lot of work done already in Second Life and could not move all to Kitely Grid. I took a month to decide and did the move and I've more then happy with the outcome. Not only do I have more space now but more Prims too (12000 instead of 15000) and those 16 sims work like 1 big. It's almost a year since I moved and I did lot of changes, I first tried to redo the same sim I had on Second Life but I changed my mind and try to go back to a more French baroque look as I could now make giant gardens. I did a new Palace inspired by Le Louvre and Fontainebleau. After I had done it, I decided to change the inside to something more like Versailles my true passion Left is Old design Right is new one Now the new inside was done the outside felt kind of sad... so I decided to change it all over again and redo the gardens too. Why stop there? With those new gardens and inside I decided it was time I give a try at making a new outside too that would look more like Versailles so I did. This is the current state of the Palace but again I kept some difference from the original Versailles castle, especially the facade but the back is very close. There is so much left to do and it take lot of time. (Especially when I redo stuff over and over...)
I decided to open the sim to the public so they can visit even if it's not playable yet and maybe it would motivate some creators and builders to sell baroque and period attire to the Kitely Market so it would help me in my project. The more great stuff people will create the less I'll have to make myself :) Thank you for reading the story of this project and hope you will enjoy the Baroque living this project will provide you.
